St. Patrick’s Day Weekend World Premier Launch
Chicago, IL. March 15, 2008. It was the Saturday of St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Green could be seen everywhere and Chief O’Neill’s was heaving with both traditional pub-goers and families with small children alike. We fit right in.
Two days prior, Chief O’Neill’s owner Brendan McKinney had received his free samples of THIS in the mail, taste-tested it and had his Chef taste it as well. He immediately called us and invited the McCoy’s THIS crew to set up a booth for the festivities and sell some THIS. It turned out very well. We were strategically positioned in a great location where the partiers and dining families crossed paths. It seemed everyone was interested in having a taste from our sample bowls and THIS started to sell.
By the end of the night, hundreds of people had sampled our product and many had bought a bottle or two. The overwhelming response was exactly what we think: The taste starts off quite mild and sweet and then there’s a kick about 10 seconds in. That kick doesn’t overwhelm you though and in fact, leaves you wanting more. They loved it - even people that initially said they didn’t even like hot sauce purchased some of THIS. Mission accomplished!
Not enough can be said about the gracious Brendan McKinney and company. They are truly world-class as is his pub and the food we ate that day. Our hats are off to Brendan, his wife Siobhan and the rest of the staff of Chief O’Neill’s Pub and Restaurant. Thank you all for allowing our launch to be at your fine establishment.
