History of THIS

A story on how the concept became a commercial product.

The inventor of our recipe and co-founder Bill McCoy comes from an Irish-American family out of Chicago, Illinois with Irish heritage from both parents. The McCoy’s and the McCluskey’s.

During the 1990’s Bill’s father ran a restaurant called McCoy’s. It was an “All you can eat” buffet style restaurant with many traditional Irish and American dishes. It was then Bill was first introduced to the family’s homemade Irish hot sauce recipe. The story unfolds that the recipe was something handed down from father to son for four generations.  The McCoy men have always loved to cook and create their own sauces.

Since then, the McCoy restaurant has passed, as well as Bill’s father but the family recipe lives on. Interested in carrying on the torch, (pun intended) Bill spent the last ten years experimenting and perfecting his family’s recipe so everyone could enjoy it. The final result is THIS. (McCoy’s Thick Hot Irish Sauce)

Today, THIS may not be made in Ireland but it represents generations of an Irish family that had a dream to create the perfect hot sauce.

Regardless if they are the “Real McCoy” or NOT, these McCoy’s like it HOT.
